Conscience, April 20

“This is the covenant that I will make with them…says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”
… brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,
by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,
and having a High Priest over the house of God,
let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:16; 19-23, www.solascriptura.com

Father, we are so grateful that we are no longer judged by the Law. If we were to choose to remain under the Law, our sins would still be with us. For the New Covenant, we are grateful. You not only cleansed us of our sins but You then inscribed the truth on our hearts and minds, forever, and the miracle of being born again with a new purpose in life is ours if we would but love and obey.

We no longer stand outside the Holy of Holies, but we are invited behind the veil, right into Your presence and there You call us friends. Picturing that moment is both difficult and sublime. Such truth is too great for us to fully comprehend.

Let us draw near to You Jesus, our High Priest and more, for cleansing, strengthening, counseling, and comfort. No one on this earth can do for us what You have already done and what You are yet able to do if we but trust and obey.

The refreshment of Your cleansing water in our lives daily is like none other. You are the Living Water. Fill us afresh. In Your Holy name, we pray, amen.

Our eternal High Priest, Jesus, is our advocate…perfect!

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

Prayer, Part I, January 31   …there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.   Hebrews 4:13-16, www.solascriptura.com   Father, we stand before You all day, every day, completely exposed. We have no secret thoughts or actions and You tell us here that we must give an account for our decisions.   Sending Jesus to us, to be tempted as we are, and then raising Him up as our eternal High Priest, gives us an advocate unlike any other. Our Jesus knows what we are encountering and is there for us, all the time. We come boldly to You Jesus, seeking Your love and guidance that the grace of God may prevail in our lives. In Jesus Holy name, we pray, amen. Bruce Caldwell The Sola Scriptura Project, P.O. Box 302, Franklin TN 37064

Do you think you ever sin in secret?

Sunday, January 13th, 2013

Temptation, January 13

For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
… there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Hebrews 2:18, Hebrews 4:13-16, www.solascriptura.com

Jesus, all that we think, do and feel is before you. We do not face temptation alone nor do we sin in secret. Your experiences on earth are our experiences as well. You lift us up, as though we had never sinned, into the presence of the Father. Therefore, in Your righteousness, we can be bold in coming to the Father in prayer and boldly seek to serve Him, which is the essence of our purpose.

We are undeserving of your mercy and grace but for reasons known only to You, You seek us out, cleanse us and embolden us to be Your children. Your plan for our lives does exist.

Help us O’ God to discover Your perfect will, this day and every moment of our lives. In Christ’s Holy name and power, we pray. Amen

You are invited to enter, behind the veil.

Saturday, August 11th, 2012

Hope, August 11

This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever.

Hebrews 6:19-20, www.solascriptura.com

Father, first You have called us saints and now You invite us to enter into Your Holy Presence, a place where only the High Priest could enter once a year, behind the veil.

We know that when Jesus was crucified, the veil was torn from the top to the bottom, making access available, by the shed blood of our Savior, to each of us. Jesus, it was Your sacrifice that made it possible for these things to be so. Father it was You who ripped the veil open, from the top, inviting us into You Holy presence.

These thoughts are too much to comprehend and Your perfect plan too great to be fully understood or to have been conceived by man. We humbly beg for wisdom and discernment. We beg You to be patient with us as we seek to become mature in our faith. In Jesus’ holy name we pray, amen.
