Genesis 1:14-18
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the
sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs
to mark seasons and days and years,
15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light
on the earth." And it was so.
16 God made two great lights - the greater light to govern the day
and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,
18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness.
And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:27-31
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he
created him; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase
in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of
the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature
that moves on the ground."
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on
the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with
seed in it. They will be yours for food.
30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the
air and all the creatures that move on the ground - everything
that has the breath of life in it - I give every green plant for
food." And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there
was evening, and there was morning - the sixth day.
Deut 28:3-6
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your
land and the young of your livestock - the calves of your herds
and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go
out.
1 Chron 16:33-34
33 Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for
joy before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth.
34 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
1 Kings 3:5-14
5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night;
and God said, "Ask! What shall I give you?"
6 And Solomon said: "You have shown great mercy to Your servant
David my father, because he walked before You in truth, in righteousness,
and in uprightness of heart with You; You have continued this
great kindness for him, and You have given him a son to sit on
his throne, as it is this day.
7 Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead
of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how
to go out or come in.
8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have
chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted.
9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge
Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who
is able to judge this great people of Yours?"
10 The speech pleased the LORD, that Solomon had asked this thing.
11 Then God said to him: "Because you have asked this thing,
and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked riches
for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have
asked for yourself understanding to discern justice,
12 behold, I have done according to your words; see, I have given
you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been
anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after
you.
13 And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches
and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the
kings all your days.
14 So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments,
as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days."
Isa 65:17-19
17
"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold,
I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, And her people a joy.
19 I will rejoice in Jerusalem, And joy in My people; The voice
of weeping shall no longer be heard in her, Nor the voice of crying.
Ps 19:7-14
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes
of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances
of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they
are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.
11 By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great
reward.
12 Who can discern his errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule
over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be
pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Ps 16:11
11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness
of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore
Ps 30:11-12
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put
off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be
silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
Ps 33:13-15
13 The LORD looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men.
14 From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants
of the earth;
15 He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their
works.
Ps 51:9-13
9 Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit
within me.
11 Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your
Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your
generous Spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners shall
be converted to You.
Ps 86:4-7
4 Rejoice the soul of Your servant, For to You, O Lord, I lift
up my soul.
5 For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant
in mercy to all those who call upon You.
6 Give ear, O LORD, to my prayer; And attend to the voice of my
supplications.
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, For You will
answer me.
Ps 94:19,22
19 In the multitude of my anxieties
within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
22 But the LORD has been my defense, And my God the rock of my
refuge.
Ps 100
3 Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and
not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts
with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
5 For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth
endures to all generations.
Matt 6:25-33
25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what
you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear.
Is not life more important than food, and the body more important
than clothes?
26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store
away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you
not much more valuable than they?
27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies
of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was
dressed like one of these.
30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is
here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much
more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall
we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them.
33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these
things will be given to you as well.
Rom 8:22-31
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the
pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of
the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption
as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no
hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?
25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it
patiently.
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do
not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes
for us with groans that words cannot express.
27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with
God's will.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those
who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed
to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among
many brothers.
30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called,
he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for
us, who can be against us?
32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-how
will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
John 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to
destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may
have it more abundantly.
Rom 1:5-7
5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience
to the faith among all nations for His name,
6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;
7 To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints:
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ.
Rom 12:4-8
4 For as we have many members in one body, but all the members
do not have the same function,
5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually
members of one another.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given
to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion
to our faith;
7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches,
in teaching;
8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality;
he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
1 Cor 1:7-9
7 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly
wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.
8 He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless
on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ
our Lord, is faithful.
1 Cor 7:7
each man has his own gift from God; one has this gift, another
has that.
1 Cor 12
1 Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be
ignorant.
2 You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were
influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3 Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit
of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say,
"Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.
4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works
all of them in all men.
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for
the common good.
8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom,
to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing
by that one Spirit,
10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another
distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different
kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives
them to each one, just as he determines.
12 The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and
though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with
Christ.
13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body-whether
Jews or Greeks, slave or free-and we were all given the one Spirit
to drink.
14 Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
15 If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do
not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease
to be part of the body.
16 And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I
do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason
cease to be part of the body.
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing
be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell
be?
18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one
of them, just as he wanted them to be.
19 If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20 As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!"
And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!"
22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker
are indispensable,
23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with
special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated
with special modesty,
24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But
God has combined the members of the body and has given greater
honor to the parts that lacked it,
25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its
parts should have equal concern for each other.
26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part
is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part
of it.
28 And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles,
second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also
those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those
with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different
kinds of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all
work miracles?
30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all
interpret?
31 But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you
the most excellent way.
1 Cor 13:8-10
8 Love never fails. But where
there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues,
they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.
1 Cor 14:1-4, 12
1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially
the gift of prophecy.
2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but
to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with
his spirit.
3 But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening,
encouragement and comfort.
4 He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies
edifies the church.
12
Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to
excel in gifts that build up the church.
James 1:5-7
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously
to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he
who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the
wind.
7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the
Lord;
1 Peter 4:9-11
9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
10 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve
others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
11 If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very
words of God. If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength
God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through
Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever.
Amen.
1 John 2:18
18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard
that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have
come. This is how we know it is the last hour.
1 John 2:20
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you
know the truth.
1 John 2:27
27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in
you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing
teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not
counterfeit-just as it has taught you, remain in him.
2 Cor 9:15
15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
Gal 5:22-23
22
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no
law.
May God bless
the reading of His Word.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word
of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged
sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of
joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents
of the heart.
