1 Cor 15:12-58
12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead,
how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not
risen.
14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your
faith is also empty.
15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have
testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise
up-- if in fact the dead do not rise.
16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.
17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still
in your sins!
18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men
the most pitiable.
20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits
of those who have fallen asleep.
21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection
of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward
those who are Christ's at His coming.
24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father,
when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.
25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
27 For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says
"all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all
things under Him is excepted.
28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself
will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God
may be all in all.
29 Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if
the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptized for the
dead?
30 And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour?
31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus
our Lord, I die daily.
32 If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus,
what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, "Let us eat
and drink, for tomorrow we die!"
33 Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good habits."
34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have
the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
35 But someone will say, "How are the dead raised up? And with what
body do they come?"
36 Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies.
37 And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but
mere grain-- perhaps wheat or some other grain.
38 But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own
body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh
of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fish, and another of
birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the
glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial
is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and
another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star
in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in
corruption, it is raised in incorruption.
43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in
weakness, it is raised in power.
44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There
is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living being."
The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward
the spiritual.
47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man
is the Lord from heaven.
48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust;
and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also
bear the image of the heavenly Man.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit
the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we
shall all be changed--
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.
For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,
and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal
has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying
that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."
55 "O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?"
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord
Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always
abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not
in vain in the Lord.
Luke 12:8-9
8 "... I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the
Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God.
9 "But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels
of God.
Rev 14:13
13 Then I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Write: 'Blessed
are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.'" "Yes," says the
Spirit, "that they may rest from their labors, and their works
follow them."
Job 3:17
17 There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary
are at rest.
Heb 11:16
16 God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared
a city for them.
Heb 13:14
14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to
come.
Matt 13:44-46
44 (Jesus said), " the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden
in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he
goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful
pearls,
46 "who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and
sold all that he had and bought it.
Luke 10:20,25-28
20 ..."rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying,
"Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"
26 He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading
of it?"
27 So he answered and said," 'You shall love the Lord your God
with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength,
and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'"
28 And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and
you will live."
Luke 12:32
"Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure
to give you the kingdom.
Luke 15:4-7
4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of
them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go
after the one which is lost until he finds it?
5 "And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 "And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors,
saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which
was lost!'
7 "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven
over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons
who need no repentance.
Luke 23:39-43
39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged with Jesus blasphemed
Him, saying, "If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us."
40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, "Do you not
even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?
41 "And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our
deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong."
42 Then he said to Jesus, "Lord, remember me when You come into
Your kingdom."
43 And Jesus said to him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you
will be with Me in Paradise."
2 Cor 5:1-10
1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed,
we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal
in the heavens.
2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with
our habitation which is from heaven,
3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.
4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because
we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may
be swallowed up by life.
5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also
has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home
in the body we are absent from the Lord.
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from
the body and to be present with the Lord.
9 ...We make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well
pleasing to Him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ,
that each one may receive the things done in the body, according
to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Heb 12:22-28
22 ... you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living
God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,
23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are
registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits
of just men made perfect,
24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood
of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did
not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall
we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,
26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised,
saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven."
27 Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things
that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things
which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be
shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably
with reverence and godly fear.
II Th 1:6-7
6 ... it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation
those who trouble you,
7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord
Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
Phil 1:20-24
20 ...now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by
life or by death.
21 For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my
labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell.
23 For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart
and be with Christ, which is far better.
24 Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you.
Col 3:1-4
1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which
are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear
with Him in glory.
1Thes 4:13-18
13 I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those
who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no
hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God
will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who
are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means
precede those who are asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout,
with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And
the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus
we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1Thes 5:1-6
1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have
no need that I should write to you.
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so
comes as a thief in the night.
3 For when they say, "Peace and safety!" then sudden destruction
comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they
shall not escape.
4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should
overtake you as a thief.
5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of
the night nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and
be sober.
2 Pet 3:7-10,13-14
7 ...The heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the
same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and
perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord
one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count
slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any
should perish but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night,
in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the
elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works
that are in it will be burned up.
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens
and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
14 Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent
to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless;
Rev 2:7
7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the
churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree
of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."
1 Pet 1:3-4
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who
according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living
hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does
not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.
Rev 7:13-14,16-17
13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these
arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?"
14 And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These
are the ones who come out of the great tribulation.
16 "They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the
sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;
17 "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd
them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will
wipe away every tear from their eyes."
Luke 20:34-36
34 Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given
in marriage.
35 "But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the
resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;
36 "nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels
and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
Zech 3:-7
7 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'If you will walk in My ways,
and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My
house, and likewise have charge of My courts...
Zeph 3:9
9 "For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, that
they all may call on the name of the LORD, to serve Him with one
accord.
Isa 62:2
2 You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD
will name.
Rev 3:20-21
20 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My
voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with
him, and he with Me.
21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne,
as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
Luke 16:19-31
19 "There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and
fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.
20 "But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores,
who was laid at his gate,
21 "desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich
man's table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 "So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels
to Abraham's bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
23 "And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and
saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 "Then he cried and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me,
and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water
and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.'
25 "But Abraham said, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you
received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but
now he is comforted and you are tormented.
26 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great
gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot,
nor can those from there pass to us.'
27 "Then he said, 'I beg you therefore, father, that you would
send him to my father's house,
28 'for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest
they also come to this place of torment.'
29 "Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let
them hear them.'
30 "And he said, 'No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them
from the dead, they will repent.'
31 "But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets,
neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.'"
May God bless
the reading of His Word.
Heb 4:12
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and
spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.
