Prov 8:22-31
Prophecy in Proverbs
22 "The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, before
His works of old.
23 I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning,
before there was ever an earth.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were
no fountains abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was
brought forth;
26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the
primeval dust of the world.
27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there, when He drew a circle
on the face of the deep,
28 When He established the clouds above, when He strengthened
the fountains of the deep,
29 When He assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters would
not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations
of the earth,
30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; and I was daily
His delight, rejoicing always before Him,
31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world, and my delight was with the
sons of men.
1 Kings 8:27 Prophecy
in First Kings
27 "But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and
the heaven of heavens cannot contain You...
Isa 11:1-10
Prophecy in Isaiah
1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch
shall grow out of his roots.
2 The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom
and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit
of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3 His delight is in the fear of the LORD, and He shall not judge
by the sight of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with
equity for the meek of the earth; he shall strike the earth with
the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall
slay the wicked.
5 Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness
the belt of His waist.
6 "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall
lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and
the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie
down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, and the weaned
child shall put his hand in the viper's den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for
the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters
cover the sea.
10 "And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, who shall
stand as a banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him,
and His resting place shall be glorious."
Luke 2:25-32
Fulfillment in Luke
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon,
and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation
of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he
would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ.
27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents
brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom
of the law,
28 he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said:
29 "Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according
to Your word;
30 For my eyes have seen Your salvation
31 Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples,
32 A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory
of Your people Israel."
Acts 9:1-15 Fulfillment
in the Book of Acts
1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples
of the Lord, went to the high priest
2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so
that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women,
he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light
shone around him from heaven.
4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him,
"Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?"
5 And he said, "Who are You, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus,
whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the
goads."
6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want
me to do?" And the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city,
and you will be told what you must do."
7 And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing
a voice but seeing no one.
8 Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened
he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into
Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.
10 Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias;
and to him the Lord said in a vision, "Ananias." And he said,
"Here I am, Lord."
11 So the Lord said to him, "Arise and go to the street called
Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul
of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.
12 "And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in
and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight."
13 Then Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about
this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem.
14 "And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all
who call on Your name."
15 But the Lord said to him, "Go, for he is a chosen vessel of
Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children
of Israel.
Matt 12:21
Fulfillment in Matthew
21 And in His name Gentiles will trust."
Mal 3:1 Prophecy
in Malachi
1 "... I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way before
Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple,
even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold,
He is coming," says the LORD of hosts.
Isa 40:3-8 Prophecy
in Isaiah
3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way
of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4 Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought
low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places
smooth;
5 The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall
see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
6 The voice said, "Cry out!" And he said, "What shall I cry?"
"All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower
of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the
LORD blows upon it; surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God
stands forever."
Matt 3:1-17 Fulfillment
in Matthew
1 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness
of Judea,
2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"
3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:
"The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of
the Lord; make His paths straight.' "
4 And John himself was clothed in camel's hair, with a leather
belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey.
5 Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan
went out to him
6 and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.
7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to
his baptism, he said to them, "Brood of vipers! Who warned you
to flee from the wrath to come?
8 "Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance,
9 "and do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as
our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children
to Abraham from these stones.
10 "And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore
every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown
into the fire.
11 "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who
is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not
worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and
fire.
12 "His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean
out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but
He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."
13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized
by him.
14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, "I need to be baptized
by You, and are You coming to me?"
15 But Jesus answered and said to him, "Permit it to be so now,
for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness." Then
he allowed Him.
16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the
water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw
the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.
17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My
beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Micah 5:2 Prophecy
in Micah
2 "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the
thousands of Judah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the
One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old,
from everlasting."
Matt 2:1-6 Fulfillment
in Matthew
1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of
Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,
2 saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For
we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him."
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem
with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of
the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was
to be born.
5 So they said to him, "In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is
written by the prophet:
6 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are not the least
among the rulers of Judah; for out of you shall come a Ruler who
will shepherd My people Israel.' "
Luke 2:1-20 Fulfillment
in Luke
1 And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from
Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered.
2 This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria.
3 So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
4 Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth,
into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because
he was of the house and lineage of David,
5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with
child.
6 So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed
for her to be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in
swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was
no room for them in the inn.
8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the
fields, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the
glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid.
10 Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold,
I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
11 "For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior,
who is Christ the Lord.
12 "And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped
in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger."
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly
host praising God and saying:
14 "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill
toward men!"
15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven,
that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem
and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made
known to us."
16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the
Babe lying in a manger.
17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying
which was told them concerning this Child.
18 And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were
told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.
20 Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for
all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
Isa 7:3, 10-14 Prophecy
in Isaiah
3 Then the LORD said to Isaiah, "Go out now to meet Ahaz, you
and Shear-Jashub your son, at the end of the aqueduct from the
upper pool, on the highway to the Fuller's Field,
10 Moreover the LORD spoke (again) to Ahaz, saying,
11 "Ask a sign for yourself from the LORD your God; ask it either
in the depth or in the height above."
12 But Ahaz said, "I will not ask, nor will I test the LORD!"
13 Then he said, "Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing
for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?
14 "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the
virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name
Immanuel.
Deut 18:15,18-19 Prophecy
in Deuteronomy
15 "The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me
from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear,
18 'I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their
brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak
to them all that I command Him.
19 'And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which
He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.
John 7:33-43 Fulfillment
in John
33 Then Jesus said to them, "I shall be with you a little while
longer, and then I go to Him who sent Me.
34 "You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot
come."
35 Then the Jews said among themselves, "Where does He intend
to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the
Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?
36 "What is this thing that He said, 'You will seek Me and not
find Me, and where I am you cannot come'?"
37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and
drink.
38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his
heart will flow rivers of living water."
39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing
in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because
Jesus was not yet glorified.
40 Therefore many from the crowd, when they heard this saying,
said, "Truly this is the Prophet."
41 Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Will the
Christ come out of Galilee?
42 "Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the
seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?"
43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.
Zech 9:9 Prophecy
in Zechariah
9 "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you; he is just and having salvation,
lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.
Matt 21:1-11 Fulfillment
in Matthew
1 Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at
the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,
2 saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately
you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and
bring them to Me.
3 "And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord
has need of them,' and immediately he will send them."
4 All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
by the prophet, saying:
5 "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to
you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.'"
6 So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.
7 They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on
them, and set Him on them.
8 And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road;
others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the
road.
9 Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried
out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed is He who
comes in the name of the Lord!' Hosanna in the highest!"
10 And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved,
saying, "Who is this?"
11 So the multitudes said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth
of Galilee."
Isa 53:1-3 Prophecy in Isaiah
1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the
LORD been revealed?
2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a
root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; and when
we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.
3 He is despised and rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted
with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; he was
despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Acts 4:4-12 Fulfullment
in the book of Acts
4 However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the
number of the men came to be about five thousand.
5 And it came to pass, on the next day, that their rulers, elders,
and scribes,
6 as well as Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander,
and as many as were of the family of the high priest, were gathered
together at Jerusalem.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, "By what
power or by what name have you done this?"
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, "Rulers
of the people and elders of Israel:
9 "If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless
man, by what means he has been made well,
10 "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel,
that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified,
whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before
you whole.
11 "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which
has become the chief cornerstone.'
12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other
name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
May God bless
the reading of His Word.
Heb 4:12 For the word
of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged
sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of
joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents
of the heart.
