2 Chr 7:14
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and
pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will
hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Ps 27:7-9
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon
me, and answer me.
8 When You said, "Seek My face," my heart said to You, "Your face,
LORD, I will seek."
9 Do not hide Your face from me; do not turn Your servant away
in anger; you have been my help; do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
Ps 42:1-4
1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for
You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come
and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually
say to me, "Where is your God?"
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me.
Ps 42:5, 8-11
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted
within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help
of His countenance.
8 The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, and
in the night His song shall be with me-- a prayer to the God of
my life.
9 I will say to God my Rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do
I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"
10 As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while
they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?"
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted
within me? Hope in God;
Rom 8:28
28 We know that all things work together for good to those who
love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Ps 8:3-5
3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the
moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
4 What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man
that You visit him?
5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You
have crowned him with glory and honor.
Ps 9:8-12
8 He shall judge the world in righteousness, and He shall administer
judgment for the peoples in uprightness.
9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in
times of trouble.
10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; for
You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds
among the people.
12 When He avenges blood, He remembers them; he does not forget
the cry of the humble.
Ps 119:5-18
5 Oh, that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!
6 Then I would not be ashamed, when I look into all Your commandments.
7 I will praise You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your
righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes; Oh, do not forsake me utterly!
9 How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according
to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander
from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against
You!
12 Blessed are You, O LORD! Teach me Your statutes!
13 With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much as
in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your
word.
17 Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep
Your word.
18 Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law.
Neh 1:5
5 "I pray, LORD God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who
keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe
Your commandments
Ps 119:26-35
26 I have declared my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your
statutes.
27 Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate
on Your wondrous works.
28 My soul melts from heaviness; strengthen me according to Your
word.
29 Remove from me the way of lying, and grant me Your law graciously.
30 I have chosen the way of truth; your judgments I have laid
before me.
31 I cling to Your testimonies; O LORD, do not put me to shame!
32 I will run the course of Your commandments, for You shall enlarge
my heart.
33 Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, and I shall keep
it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; indeed, I
shall observe it with my whole heart.
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight
in it.
Ps 17:15
15 I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied
when I awake in Your likeness.
Ps 18:1-3
1 I will love You, O LORD, my strength.
2 The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God,
my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my
salvation, my stronghold.
3 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised;
Ps 119:40-42
40 Behold, I long for Your precepts; revive me in Your righteousness.
41 Let Your mercies come also to me, O LORD-- your salvation according
to Your word.
42 So shall I have an answer for him who reproaches me, for I
trust in Your word.
James 5:13-16
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful?
Let him sing psalms.
14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the
church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in
the name of the Lord.
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will
raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another,
that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous
man avails much.
Ps 31:1-3
1 In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver
me in Your righteousness.
2 Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be my rock of
refuge, a fortress of defense to save me.
3 For You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name's
sake, lead me and guide me.
Ps 40:1-17
1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and
heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry
clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth-- praise to our God; many
will see it and fear, and will trust in the LORD.
4 Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, and does not
respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works which You have
done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in
order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than
can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering You did not desire; my ears You have
opened; burnt offering and sin offering You did not require.
7 Then I said, "Behold, I come; in the scroll of the book it is
written of me.
8 I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within
my heart."
9 I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness in the great
assembly; indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O LORD, You Yourself
know.
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have
declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed
Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly.
11 Do not withhold Your tender mercies from me, O LORD; let Your
lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have surrounded me; my iniquities have
overtaken me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more
than the hairs of my head; therefore my heart fails me.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me; O LORD, make haste to help
me!
14 Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion who seek
to destroy my life; let them be driven backward and brought to
dishonor who wish me evil.
15 Let them be confounded because of their shame, who say to me,
"Aha, aha!"
16 Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let
such as love Your salvation say continually, "The LORD be magnified!"
17 But I am poor and needy; yet the LORD thinks upon me. You are
my help and my deliverer; do not delay, O my God.
Ps 69:16
16 Hear me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good; turn to me
according to the multitude of Your tender mercies.
Ps 61:1-2
1 HEAR my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is
overwhelmed; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
Ps 62:9-12
9 Surely men of low degree are a vapor, men of high degree are
a lie; if they are weighed on the scales, they are altogether
lighter than vapor.
10 Do not trust in oppression, nor vainly hope in robbery; if
riches increase, do not set your heart on them.
11 God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs
to God.
12 Also to You, O Lord, belongs mercy; for You render to each
one according to his work.
Ps 63:1-8
1 O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts
for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where
there is no water.
2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, to see Your power
and Your glory.
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall
praise You.
4 Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands
in Your name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, and my
mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night
watches.
7 Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your
wings I will rejoice.
8 My soul follows close behind You; your right hand upholds me.
Ps 28:6-7
6 Blessed be the LORD, because He has heard the voice of my supplications!
7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him,
and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with
my song I will praise Him.
Ps 66:16-20
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what
He has done for my soul.
17 I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.
18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.
19 But certainly God has heard me; he has attended to the voice
of my prayer.
20 Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His
mercy from me!
Ps 67:3
3 God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine
upon us.
2 That Your way may be known on earth, your salvation among all
nations.
3 Let the people praise You, O God; let all the people praise
You.
1Thes 5:17-18
17 pray without ceasing,
18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ
Jesus for you.
Isa 33:2
2 O LORD, be gracious to us; we have waited for You. Be their
arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
Ps 143:1-12
1 Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications! In Your
faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness.
2 Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight
no one living is righteous.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life
to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, like those who
have long been dead.
4 Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within
me is distressed.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I
muse on the work of Your hands.
6 I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You like a thirsty
land. Selah
7 Answer me speedily, O LORD; my spirit fails! Do not hide Your
face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, for in
You do I trust; cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
for I lift up my soul to You.
9 Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; in You I take shelter.
10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; your Spirit is
good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.
11 Revive me, O LORD, for Your name's sake! For Your righteousness'
sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 In Your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who
afflict my soul; for I am Your servant.
Matt 6:5-8
5 "And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For
they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners
of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say
to you, they have their reward.
6 "But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have
shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place;
and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
7 "And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen
do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
8 "Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things
you have need of before you ask Him.
Heb 4:13-16
13 ...there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things
are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed
through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
confession.
15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with
our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without
sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
John 17:1-3
1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said:
"Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also
may glorify You,
2 "as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should
give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.
3 "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only
true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
May God bless the reading
of His Word.
Heb 4:12
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and
spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.
