Job 40:6-7
6 ... the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
7 "Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you
shall answer Me:
Job
41:1-4,7-12,33-34
1 "Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook, or snare his tongue
with a line which you lower?
2 Can you put a reed through his nose, or pierce his jaw with
a hook?
3 Will he make many supplications to you? Will he speak softly
to you?
4 Will he make a covenant with you? Will you take him as a servant
forever?
7 Can you fill his skin with harpoons, or his head with fishing
spears?
8 Lay your hand on him; remember the battle-- never do it again!
9 Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false; shall one not be
overwhelmed at the sight of him?
10 No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then
is able to stand against Me?
11 Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under
heaven is Mine.
12 "I will not conceal his limbs, his mighty power, or his graceful
proportions.
33 On earth there is nothing like him, which is made without fear.
34 He beholds every high thing; he is king over all the children
of pride."
Isa
14:12-15
12 "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit
on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the
north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like
the Most High.'
15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths
of the Pit.
Deut
18:10-12
10 "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son
or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft,
or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,
11 "or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or
one who calls up the dead.
12 "For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD,
and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them
out from before you.
Ps 97:9-11
9 ...You, LORD, are most high above all the earth; you are exalted
far above all gods.
10 You who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the souls of
His saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright
in heart.
Ps 143:3-4
3 ...the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life
to the ground; he has made me dwell in darkness, like those who
have long been dead.
4 Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within
me is distressed.
Matt
12:43-45
43 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through
dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.
44 "Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.'
And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order.
45 "Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked
than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state
of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with
this wicked generation."
John
6:64-71
64 "... there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew
from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who
would betray Him.
65 And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can
come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father."
66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with
Him no more.
67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"
68 But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You
have the words of eternal life.
69 "Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God."
70 Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and
one of you is a devil?"
71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he
who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.
Luke
22:31-34
31 And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for
you, that he may sift you as wheat.
32 "But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail;
and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren."
33 But he said to Him, "Lord, I am ready to go with You, both
to prison and to death."
34 Then He said, "I tell you, Peter, the rooster shall not crow
this day before you will deny three times that you know Me."
I Jn
3:8-11
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the
beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that
He might destroy the works of the devil.
9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains
in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are
manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God,
nor is he who does not love his brother.
11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning,
that we should love one another,
John
8:39-47
39 ..."If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works
of Abraham.
40 "But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth
which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.
41 "You do the deeds of your father." Then they said to Him, "We
were not born of fornication; we have one Father-- God."
42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love
Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of
Myself, but He sent Me.
43 "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able
to listen to My word.
44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your
father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and
does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he
is a liar and the father of it.
45 "But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
46 "Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth,
why do you not believe Me?
47 "He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear,
because you are not of God."
John
14:27-30
27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the
world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid.
28 "You have heard Me say to you, 'I am going away and coming
back to you.' If you loved Me, you would rejoice because I said,
'I am going to the Father,' for My Father is greater than I.
29 "And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does
come to pass, you may believe.
30 "I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this
world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.
John
16:7-11
7 "Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage
that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come
to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and
of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 "of sin, because they do not believe in Me;
10 "of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me
no more;
11 "of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
Rom
16:17-20
17 Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and
offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid
them.
18 For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ,
but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech
deceive the hearts of the simple.
19 For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am
glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good,
and simple concerning evil.
20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
2 Cor
10:3-5
3 ...though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the
flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in
God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself
against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity
to the obedience of Christ,
2 Cor
11:14-15
14 ... Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform
themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be
according to their works.
Eph
1:12
12 ...we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of
His glory.
Eph
2:1-7
1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who
now works in the sons of disobedience,
3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts
of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind,
and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with
which He loved us,
5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together
with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly
places in Christ Jesus,
7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches
of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
Eph
6:10-17
10 ...my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His
might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness
of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly
places.
13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having
put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel
of peace;
16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be
able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
which is the word of God;
Col
1:12-13
12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers
of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed
us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
1Thes
3:4-5
4 ...we told you ...that we would suffer tribulation, just as
it happened, and you know.
5 For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to
know your faith, lest by some means the tempter had tempted you,
and our labor might be in vain.
II Th
1:4-12
4 ...we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your
patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that
you endure,
5 which is manifest evidence of the righteous judgment of God,
that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which
you also suffer;
6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation
those who trouble you,
7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord
Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God,
and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the
presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
10 when He comes, in that Day, to be glorified in His saints and
to be admired among all those who believe, because our testimony
among you was believed.
11 Therefore we also pray always for you that our God would count
you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure
of His goodness and the work of faith with power,
12 that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in
you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Heb
2:9,14-16
9 ... we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels,
for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that
He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood,
He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He
might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and release those who through fear of death were all their
lifetime subject to bondage.
16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give
aid to the seed of Abraham.
James
2:19
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons
believe-- and tremble!
James
4:7-8
7 ...submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
1 Pet
5:8-10
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks
about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings
are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal
glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect,
establish, strengthen, and settle you.
Rev
12:7-12
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with
the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,
8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in
heaven any longer.
9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called
the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast
to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation,
and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His
Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused
them before our God day and night, has been cast down.
11 "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the
word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to
the death.
12 "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe
to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has
come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he
has a short time."
II Th
2:1-17
1 ...concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering
together to Him, we ask you,
2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit
or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ
had come.
3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come
unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed,
the son of perdition,
4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God
or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of
God, showing himself that he is God.
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you
these things?
6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed
in his own time.
7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who
now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will
consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness
of His coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of
Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,
10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish,
because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they
might be saved.
11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that
they should believe the lie,
12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth
but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren
beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you
for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief
in the truth,
14 to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of
the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which
you were taught, whether by word or our epistle.
16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father,
who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good
hope by grace,
17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and
work.
May God bless the reading
of His Word.
Heb 4:12
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and
spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts
and intents of the heart.
